Downtown Flowers
I've been taking pictures of the flowers around downtown Chicago. I thought I'd go ahead and share these flowers, plus a few close ups for those interested.
I shot them all with my Nikon Micro-Nikkor 55mm f/2.8. I was reaching the limits of magnification with the lens at 1:2 in these photos. I decided to purchase a 1:1 Macro lens (Tokina 100mm f/2.8 Macro) to take photos even closer up.

Into Oblivion
I got my new 17-40 f/4L after trading in my Canon EF 20-35 f/3.5-4.5, EF 28-135 f/3.5-5.6 and EF-S 55-250 f/4-5.6. I decided to trade in the 3 lenses because I didn't use the 28-135 or 55-250 very frequently. I also used the 20-35 a fair amount, but given the opportunity, would appreciate the wider range of the 17-40 and higher quality photos.
I went out around town and took this picture slightly north of Monroe and Franklin across from the Hyatt Center. I applied some cross processing effects and upped the contrast.
